Anyone here have alot of experience with "Directive" amps? I've been doing some reading and found they have a hybrid 5ch amp that has a higher wattage per channel to the 2 front channels than to the back. I like this as I really don't want as much power going into my rear fill speakers as I do the fronts.
I have Boston Pro 6.53's in the front and Boston NX67's in the rear fill. The 6.53's are very power hungry, so if I want, say 100w into each of them, I certainly don't want 100w into my rear fills (although they are rated to handle that as well).
Perhaps if not Directive, there's other "hybrids" that offer a watts per channel offset that reflect the thought of a "system" design?

Directed are the same people that make ADS, PPI, ADS and Orion + others. Never heard the amps personally but I would assume that they are pretty good amps.
Agree with the above, Directed makes fine quality equipment. You will be able to edit posts when your membership status is upgraded to "Standard Member." I recomend you read the forum guidelines.

I think what I'm looking for is something like a JL 500/5 - an amp that offsets the higher wattage to the fronts and less for the rear fills. Can't remember what the offical label for those style of amps are. I knew of the 500/5, just wanted a few more to look at before I shelled out any $$$. I don't have room for multiple amps either - unless they are smaller. If the 500/5 is my only choice, even its size is going to be a challenge.
And yes, I have read the forum guidelines. I just think its peculiar that I one has to post x amount of times before they can fix a typo.

Look at the Memphis Belle.

Summed in one word: Initiation. Word is it will become much more severe in the near future

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
I did check out the Memphis Belle's.....my friend's got one and loves it, but they still all look to be equal wattage x 4, etc.
If I have to find smaller ones and use multiple amps, I may just do that. Not my first choice, but circumstances - and space - may dictate I do.
I'd just like to get some power into those Bostons.

Check Soundstream davinci,it's 7 ch.
50 x 4,100 x 2 + 200 x 1 at 4 ohms
100 x 4,200 x 2 + 400 X1 at 2 ohms
the sub ch. can handle a 1 ohm load - 500 watts
