Hi all.

I used a wire 8ga for connect my amp (Sony Xplod, 250W)
The lenght of the wire is about 9 feet.

For any given reason, at the beginning and at the end of the wire, I used something like 4-5 inches of wire 10ga.

This difference in gauges can cause any problem or damage to the system??

Power and ground  wire?  Yes, it matters.  Speaker wire?  No, it's WAY overkill anyway.

I am talking about power wire.
Can you explain me more about this matter?

8 gage wire is good for 100 amps of electricity.  10 gage is only good to 60 amps.  So, by transitioning from 8 to 10 you are limiting your system to 60 amps.

Your 250 watt amplifier will only draw about 30 amps, so it will not matter in your case.  Be sure to solder and insulate the connection between the wires (or use a distribution block.)

if in any case, if you ever do not have enough 8 guage wire, and you need 8 gauge, double up 10 ten guage wires and it will all work out fine.
