I am getting too much static on the AM radio stations. I own a 1999 Nissan Pathfinder with a Bose radio.

Will welcome all suggestions.

Thanks very much

Antenna ground is often the culprit with AM.  Check for a tight fit of the antenna to chassis.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

as stevdart says, double check your ground... if it seems fine try plugging another test antenna into the radio ( dont hold the mast with your hands as you'll inject signal into it )

most AM static noises can be attributed to antenna problems, whether poor grounds or water intrusion into the antenna base/cable causing signal to leech to ground.......

If U get static without engine running, kgerry and stevdart post would be the thing to do, but if the static is worse while engine is running, check engine ground, spark plug wires, plugs coil wire, etc.  Sometimes even a weak cell in the battery will cause bad static
BELEIVE IT or NOT
