I was wondering if anyone had experiences with the JLW6 and the new MTX7500 subs.  I was going to get 3 12 inch subs, either the 12W6 or the MTX7500.  Can anyone give me some advice on which sub they would get.  The W6 is an old sub, whereas the MTX7500 is MTX's new line of subs.  The MTX has more power handling, but I am looking for clean hard hitting bass.  I think the MTX's hit harder, but are not as clean as the JL's. Thanks ....

The W6 is not an old sub unless you specifically buy the old ones the W6v2's are an awesome sub. Why not just get 2 if the 12W7 I gaurantee that you will be alot happier with the output of those 2 subs vs. 3 of either. But that is just my opinion on that subject.

All about supportin Chris here on this one.  The 12w7's are some AWSOME subs.  Definately blow any (well almost any, at least between JL and MTX) other subs away w/ spl and sql.  Hey just upgrade to one 13w7 and that's one sub, one amp, one box.  Simple, easy, loud, and nice sounding.  But out of the 12's yeah go with the JL.  The w6 line has a good rep and w/ the new w6v2 it carrys on w/ tradition.  MTX is a really good brand also, but it's a totally new line for MTX.

I would go with two subs instead of three becasue its much easeir to work with two subs, or one sub then three. Just  my 2 centz.

As a former JL and current MTX dealer don't be afraid of the MTX 7500.I have not used the 12" 7500 only the 10"'s.But I'll bet you won't have a surround problem with MTX as you will with JL.

I have never heard of having a surround problem with JL woofers...and if there was one I'm sure JL would replace it if you send it to them (or at least direct you to someone who can fix it).

I have experienced surround problems with the JL's before as well. As far as this goes, I think the poster had it right to start with. The MTX is probally a louder sub but the JL is probally cleaner, not to say the MTX isnt clean, its probally just not as good as the JL in the SQ department. For what its worth I find the W7's to be a waste of money and wouldnt dream of using one in my car being as I can get a better driver for the same or less money.

yeah...we've already been through this W7 vs. the MTX 9500 and Stephen Kephart pointed out how MTX was kind of stretching the truth on their comparisons: https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=28956&KW=MTX+9500&tpn=3
