wedge enclosure help

Hey everyone. I am doing my install starting tonite, and through the weekend. I am going to build a wedge style enclosure but i have never done one before. My problem is I dont know how to get the dimensions right. All I know is that i want 1.0 cu. ft. interior volume. I've made regular cube'd boxes, but never any angles. can someone help me out with this. i'm going to be using 3/4" MDF, i am tying to get 1.0 cu. ft. internal volume for a 12" Alpine Type R sub. If you look at the volume calculator page, i am tryin to build wedge style 1, not 2. Thanks for any help.

Here you go dude. Take some cardboard out to the ol ride and do some cutting. With this type of box the first thing to consider is that you must have clearance on the inside for the magnet. This means that you need to make the triangle end big enough for the magnet to clear the sides. Remember basic algebra, a^2 x b^2 = c^2. And you don't like math do you (I hate it). What you need to consider first is the measurements that cannot change, this means the width of the box where the sub sits. It must be a certain size for the sub to fit into it. Next is the back and bottom of the box, it must be deep enough for that magnet to clear. Once you have determined that the magnet will clear, then you can start playing with the volume calculator and input the figures to get what you need. Remember that when you are working with the cardboard to allow 3/4" for space taken up by the wood.

p.s.  You will want to put that sub in a 1.25 cubic foot box, best all around sound from that sub that way.  Remember that the sub itself will take up some air space too, so you need to compensate for that.  So building a box to 1.3 cubic feet wil end up to be about 1.25 okey?

thanks for the help, but I forgot to mention, i was going to load the woofer backwards, (magnet sticking out) thanks though. ill start measuring.
