PIE GM12-AUX

I want to install one of these in my 2003 Chevy Blazer so that I can provide RCA inputs to use my iPod.

I sent an email to the vendor I have selected for the purchase of this item, and he suggests using a wire off the fuse panel for 12v constant rather than splicing into the 12v constant on the factory radio harness.

IS this is a simple matter of finding a 12 volt wire to the fuse panel and splicing in, or should I add another 12 volt circuit to it?

I'm afraid I'm a bigtime newbie to doing car audio and wiring stuff so any and all help and links to newbie guides or mentoring is much appreciated!

He suggested that because sometimes two components sharing the same 12v source wire will pull too much current for that wire.  Buy or borrow a digital multimeter and test wires for a 12 volt DC reading.  If a wire shows 12 volts whether the ignition switch is on or off, it is a constant wire.  So, yes, it is a simple matter of finding a 12 volt wire to the fuse panel.  Solder and tape all connections, and any wires not used must be taped off and secured.
