hey this is probably a dumb question but how exactly do you tune a box?

Tuning a box is done by altering the box volume and the port displacement (if ported).

Get yourself a harmonica. Sit infront of your sub box with a sledge hammer. Tell the sub box to play this note (play it on the harmonica) or you'll beat it senseless.

Changing the interior volume of the box affects power handling and the overall control of the sub. Type of box also will affect how the sub performs. Do a search for sub boxes of sealed and ported type to do some reading on it. There is plenty of materials to be read on this site as it relates to subboxes.
