Hello, I have a 87 Mazda b-2000 and I bought this car from someone else, and they had thier stereo stolen, and well the wiring harness was cut extremely short. So anyways, I got a pioneer deh-p6500 with a wiring harness. And I rewired the speakers to the new wiring harness. The problem is I dont know where i should wire to the ignition and the constant 12+ wire. I was thinking maybe the constant straight to the battery, but I dont know where the ignition one. Even if I trace back the wires and somehow conect it to the short cut wires, I dont think that those constant and igniton ones work. So can anyone help. Thank you any help greatly appreciated.

You could go to the ignition harness and pick up your constant 12V and ignition
constant 12V= Black
ignition= BLACK/ White
remember you should use a meter to check these wire before you tap in

This might be a dumb question but where would I find the ignition harness on the truck?

What i would do is to connect both wires to battery positive, that way you would get the radio to work and the memory to be assured as well. This is something i've tried a couple of times and obviously works. I personnally prefer to have the radio working only when i turn the ignition key, but it's ok if u don't forget to turn it off when u leave the car, because this way it will work even when the ignition key is out. Just pull the pannel off under the sterring colum and there will be a harness leading from the tumbler in the sterring colum to the fuse box. Those are where the wires are that you are looking for.

BTW make sure to fuse those wires you put in.

put a fuse holder in line with the wires you run to the stearing coloum
