I need to block the bass on a set of Infinity 4" 4002i speakers.  I have a 2 channel Alpine MRP-T220 amp (50x2 @4ohm).  I'm using the left channel ro run the 4" speakers and the right channel to run a set of Sony 2 way 6x9's. Would a bass blocking capacitor be needed and if so what size?  I don't play my music loud, but I like it clean.  As as you can tell I'm on a budget.

Be smart then and listen to your music in stereo. Rewire the amp so that it is powering one set of speakers only, in stereo, and engage the hp crossover. Yes it's louder with all the speakers amplified I know, but it is not how your music (or your ears) was designed to be played. For a basic 6db slope on the smaller speakers, a approximate 4 ohm crossover point of 400hz would be a 100uf cap.
