Hey everybody. I went to my car audio shop today and I caught a glimpse of that Alpine Type R 12" in the pre-fabbed Alpine ported box. It looked really nice, and I hear the box was designed really well. I was thinkin about picking it up and gettin rid of my pyle's. just wondering how it sounds? i havent got a chance to listen to it. also, is 250 a good price for it? (sub and box)

Take a good look at the box sans speaker...is it 3/4 MDF or better?  Braced properly?  If so, sounds like a fair price.  Ask the shop if you can drop one in your car for a test run.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

By the way, the model for this box is SBR-122CR

your dam right its worth 250!   That box single handedly hit high 140's in a hyundai tiburon with the mrd-m501 wired too it.    I could not believe the punch the 1 sub could create.

Listen to it in the store, you will see what i mean.
