is it possible for subs to produce enough pressure to blow a set of 6x9's in the rear deck?

Possible, yes if you didn't have baffles beneath the 6x9's. Not saying that is is 100 % unless we get more information on the system that you have. Are you running amp power to the 6x9's or just deck power ?

my subs are a pair of 15w3's powered by a power acoustik lt980/2 bridged and wired in series to get a total load of 2 ohms (one per sub) the 6x9's are stock being powered by my HU until i can afford to replace them and get an amp to push em

Ive never heard of the rear deck speakers being blown out due to any amount of bass coming from a trunk sub. Major Distortion yes but not a blow out.  It could be possible I guess , just never heard of it.

If the 6x9 are deck powered, then you probably damaged with through clipping ( not enough power ). With the set up that your running right now, you would not have been able to hear the rear's clipping with so much bass in the back.
