sony cdx to 94 civic wiring woes

I just replaced my alpine cd player with a the new sony cdx-m730, and heres the basic layout of my system (it was working perfectly when i had the alpine installed):

2 amps (2 channel sub amp, and a 4 channel amp)

i dont have the speaker cables from the HU wired to anything, im just using hte RCAs--one to the first amp for my door panel speakers, and the other pair to my subs.

now there are 5 wires which were connected to my alpine: the constant +12v, the ground, the illumination, the ACC +12v, and the remote turn on.

i connected them all correctly; ive checked, but according to my multimeter, the "power" (yellow) cable is only holding 54 mV... car on or off; the ACC (red) wire only has about .54mV when the car is on ACC.

plus... somehow i screwed up even further when trying to fix it and my first amp (not the sub amp) doesnt have any power going to it (the remote turn on wire works, the ground is good). the power wire only carries .8 V now.

well anyway if I connect both the ACC and POWER wires to the battery the headunit works fine and the remote wire powers up my sub amp (after my first amp goes into protect mode anyway) and i can here alot off bass... but thats it.

also ive checked my speaker wire for shorts and there are none.

help is grealty appreciated.

Double check the wire connections. It sounds like something very simple. You said that as soon as you connect it to the battery it works fine so I would suspect wiring connections inside. Let us know.

hmm well it seems that my door panel speaker amp has more than one fuse on its power line.... and so does my head unit power line. whoever wired this before me was a freak... and now my dome light doesnt work cuz i had to 'borrow' its fuse... hehehe

listen your amp is cutting out cause it cant handel the imadence of the speakers if you have more than one sub than series wire the subs take the possitive of the fist speaker and connect it to the negative of the second speaker than with the two connections left one being pos and one being negative connect them to the amp and you problem should go away or you should get more performance for a longer period of time and the amp should not get half as hot.

and i dont know what you using the meter for but i have never heard of getting .54mv i think you have the meter set on the wrong thing so test and check . and try the subs this way drop a post and let us know
