I installed an old school Sony CD Changer today for my cousin.  It was probably almost 10 years old, an old school 10 disc changer.  I got the whole thing installed and there was no power on the controller unit.  The FM Modulator had the antenna connector, the plug for the changer, and the wiring for the modulator( yellow for constant, red for switched, and black for ground.)  I tapped these in with the radio harness.  When I got everything back together I turned the key to make sure it was all working and you can hear the changer cycling through the discs but the controller assembly had no function, there is no on switch on it so that is not an option.  I checked all my connections, i had the constant and switched reversed, switched that and still nothing.  I then reset the modulator and that did nothing either.  So if anybody has any ideas why the control assembly is not functioning, I'm guessing at this point that it is a bad controller, let me know asap.  Thanks,

Jason

This sounds really stupid, but did you try flipping the discs? They may be facing the wrong way.

I cant count how many times I've done this with my Mitsubishi factory CD changer, the discs have to face up.....which always screws me up. I rarely use the car. Good luck.

I would have to assume the controller is bad since it is 10 years old and probly been around but like flynn said , try flippin the cd around. Ive never heard of that but its worth a try.

There is a small pin hole on the old Sonys that are the reset button. Use a pin and try to reset it
