i brought a single din aftermarket radio. since, my car has double din and i don't like the second with an open space for cd storage i wonder if it would be a good idea to buy a cheap equalizer to fill that space? if not, what do you folks do?

I like the use of an eq , some people dont. But yes thats what I would do is install an eq in that spot but I dont know that I would go with a cheap one tho. Kenwood and alpine make pretty good ones that really compliment a system if thier set up right. Plus they will look good to fill that space in the dash. Ive also sen people use that space for a small center channel speaker but that gets pretty involved if you go that way. Also if you have or want to use crossovers , there are some made to fit those din size openings in the dash. again I would choose it carefully tho. You could also just cover it neatly with a piece of ABS plastic , plexiglass , or ive even seen it used as a place to install toggle switches or meeters for the system. Too many options.

If you NEED an EQ, then sure.  If you don't, get the Metra or Schoshe dash kit for your car.

i wanted to use a eq in one vehicle but the guy didnt want more knobs then he already had in his vehicl so we acutally took the lower panel off and used the tweeter pods and made a cool tweeter pod for under the radio    just a suggestion I will have to see if I can find the pics, it was in a 98 blazer

what about an audiocontrol epicenter 150 or sumthin like that.  It has a snazzy volt meter, and a db meter built in.
