Hey every one my name is Arun Iˇ¦m not new to this site but I donˇ¦t post alot of messages but I have a question for all you bass heads.
I have one rf dvc 4+4 and a sony xm-2150gsx thats a 2 channel amp and i'm trying to get it to push this dvc to its best ability. I tried to hook it up Parallel where it threw out 2 ohms and only use one channel off the amp and but it goes on overload. Then I tried to put one coil to each channel and it doesnˇ¦t do nothing well a little but my ear cant pick it up and i dont think its going to do much if i connect it series and get 8 ohms.
Can some one please tell me how i should hook it up? :errr:
The amp is like this:
760 Watts Max Power (into 2 ohms)
150 Watts x 2 into 4 Ohms,
380 Watts x 1 into 4 Ohms,
either get one more dual 4ohm sub or just wire the voice coils in parallel and use one channel at 2ohm for 380 max.
Ya I tryed it in parallel and the amp gose on overload? it hits pretty hard but gose on overload. why do you think its doing that?
Because the impedence in parallel is 2 ohms and your amp cannot handle that load when it is bridged. The only thing you can do is series the coils for 8-ohms and bridge the amp, or connect one coil to each channel and run a mono signal to both channels on the RCA side. It's simply a bad amp/sub match.

Support the12volt.comno when i run it in parallel i only use one channel and still i get the overload when i turn it up ....and i just bought a new clarion cd/mp3 player and when i turn it up it starts to skip not like a scrached cd but real fast this only happens when its a cd or a mp3 disc i know its now because the mp3s are not encoded right because it happens with a regular cd to.. what do you think it is ? i'm thinking its that i'm not getting a good ground or something but the lights on it dose not dim? this happeded with my old cd/mp3 player and i thought it was beacuse it was cheap. it was a aiwa?

RE: amplifier shutting down. I'm guessing your input gain is not set properly (it's too high.) RE: CD player skipping. I have no idea, but assuming the CD you are trying to play is FINE on another deck, I'll suggest the head unit should be looked at by the shop where you bought it. Might be defective.
