I just got a 04 chevy colorado. Its the type of car that keeps the radio on until you open the door. I tried to hook up my girlfriends cd player in it and it wouldn't work. Im guessin it is from the power staying on until you open the door. I also tried hooking up another on and ii didn't work either. Anyone know how to get around this??

Did you put gas in it?     lol, naw, , did you use a wire harness or just hack then ask questions?

If im not mistaken you have the new data system which does not have a 12volt ignition wire.  And you should use a relocation harness.  I haven't done a colorado yet, so my advice isn't concrete.

Hope U didn't Hack Wires:
It is a DATA Radio and if U R installing a Aftermarket AM/FM C.D.,  then U should use DATA Radio Adapter plug which will allow U to install the radio correctly.
If you are installing C.D. Changer, then U just need to run wires to Fuse box or to Ignition harness under steering column
