Hi guys I just bought  a mtx 801D amp and it says that it is stable at 2ohm. I have two mmatts 4Ohm double coil subs and the guy from the local shop says that my amp is stable down to 1 ohm. He also told me that the amp will need a lot of juice so I bough a new svr battery reated at 1300 amps. So what do you guys say??????? I'm I good to go with the configuration or should I wait and buy two new subs? I just dont want to fry the amp. Thanks.

I would not run this amp @ 1ohm . It will not be stable.2ohms is the lowest it is stable at. Either wire your subs in series/ parallel or get some new ones.

I have yet to see an actual D-Class amp run stable at 1 ohm. Most don't  like performing optimumly( ?? think that's spelled correctly posted_image ) at 2 ohms, but they do. I think the shop is full of it and ask him if he will back his word that is this amp doesn't perform at 1 ohm, will he take it back.

the only D class amp I can think of right off hand without looking is the Memphis MC1000D , The Memphis Belle MC1300D, and the Memphis "Baby Belle MC600D.....These 3 amps I know will run happily at 1 ohm...Just be ready to feed them, cuz they get hungry... [;)]

I havent had good luck with class d amps at 1 ohm unless they are pure breed comp amps...Normally I dont run anything at 1 ohm in a vehicle unless it is for comp or absolutly nessicary for heat and life reasons.   Dont get me wrong some amps preform very well for long times if reccomended at 1 ohm, but even some recomended at 1 ohm after a year of use will fail.    Unless it is a A/B amp I wouldnt go beyond the amps rating's...I own some older memphis products hc-100, hc-50 ect ect and they are recommended at no more then 1 ohm mono. I have been running mine for street beat at 1/2 ohm for quite a few months now and they preform great.   But I would not try it with a mtx d class

MTX will not run at 1 ohm without ill effects. Plain and easy. The salesman is full of sh*t and should probally go sell insurance.
