2000 Sebring conv infinty amp wiring

I need a wiring diagram for the infinty amp in my car.  I may want to use the factory wiring to by pass the amp and use the new head units power to run the new speakers.  Or would it be easier just to run new wire?  Does anybody know what kind of power this factory amp has? Thanks

The infinity amps in chryslers work pretty well with aftermarket head units, i mean the difference isnt that big after you bypass it if you are still going to use the factory speakers.  Anyhow, if you decide to bypass it, you can go behind the radio using a harness as a guide to find the wire code for the preamp signals for the amp.  that should be the same color as one plug that goes into the amp.  to find out what wires on the other plug to connect them to, first use a multimeter to find the speakers(they should be 4 ohms in a chrysler) then use a AAbattery to find out what speaker it is.  As for the polarity of the speaker, you may have to romove some paneling and go directly to the speaker(s) to see if the speaker is moving in or outward when you put the battery on the wires.  if it moves out, then use the same polarity you see on the battery (- and +). hope that helps good luck

Thanks.  I really just needed some advice.  I have already added aftermarket speakers and they sound ok with the factory amp hooked up.  Do you know the wattage of those factory amps?

I dont know the wattage, but if you have aftermarket speakers already, almost all newer headunits sound better when the amp is bypassed.  I have bypassed a few in chrysler, and i know the infinity speakers in there blow alot, so i dont recommend a bypass when the factory ones are used.  If you are up for the challenge, you would most likely get better sound by bypassing the factory amp, but i wouldnt go so far as running all new wire unless you plan on upgrading to a 4 channel amp for the speakers because that is alot more work than just connecting the wires at the amp.
