Newbie here....does it matter what direction my 10" sub faces in my trunk? I have it facing towards the rear of the car.

placement of the sub does have an affect on what you hear. if you can move your box around, try various directions, even if you can lay it on its back having the sub pushing upwards.

each car will have its own sound to it, so its hard to guess where your sub should be best placed

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

I have always found that facing the subs towards the rear of the trunk the best way to go if you try to face them in they may sound louder but typically dont get lower frequencys as well
