I am installing a system in the next couple of days for a pal, I generally do not do a lot of audio but hope to do more in the future.

The setup I have is as follows:- I am using a mac audio - mac attack 8041 amp(amp specs here) with either a Soundstream 10" xstream sub ( 4 ohn dual voice coil) or a cerwin vega HED 12" sub ( 4 ohm single voice coil).

Now my question is this, the mac audio amp is meant to be 2 ohm stable in bridge mode ?? ( , so I was thinking of using the sounstream dual dvc sub wired in parallel to show the amp 2 ohms. I though I could do this but in chatting with another guy, he says that if you show a 2 ohm stable amp 2 ohms when it's bridged, the amp must be a 1 ohm stable amp??

Can any of you guys clarify this for me and maybe check the specs of the mac audio amp to see if it is safe to do so. I'm still getting my head around the ohms law bit so would appreciate some feedback.

Thanks

Naughty

i am not seeing a 8041 on there.   i see a 4081 which is a 4 channel amp....if an amp is 2 ohm stable then you can wire a 2 ohm load...this does not include bridging though.   if you have 2 4 ohm coils to a 2 ohm load you can not bridge this on a 2 ohm stable amp...if you have a mono block amp that is 2 ohm stable you can wires you 2 ohm load to it

Almost all 2 or 4 channel amps are NOT 2-ohm stable when bridged.  I highly doubt that one is.
