Hey guys,

I'm in need of a little help here.  A friend of my wife's just dropped off her car here for me to put in a new Head Unit.  It's a 95 camaro that originally came with a bose system.  It had an aftermarket head unit in it which was recently stolen and who ever did it cut off the factory harness plug.  I need the wire diagram for the bose equipped models so I can wire the car properly because she also mentioned that she never really had to turn the radio up loud to feel the sub.  She was saying the sub would be hitting hard when she turned the volume up past like 4 or 5.    I'm putting in an older jvc kd-s640 cd player I had laying around.   Any help would be appreciated and also some insight as why the sub (which is factory) would be hitting like that so early.

Thanks

no way around it...you aren't supposed to hook up after market radios to bose systems...impedence on the speakers due to the amps that are built on to them is too low for the deck to handle...whether its two hours or two years...you will have a problem like the deck going bad...if you are really lucky you may even experience what an HH Gregg installer here in Indy had to deal with...you could burn down half of the car when a speaker blows and keeps getting played...if you want to do it right...buy four new speakers...run speaker wire to only those new speakers you installed...or go to the factory and get a new bose cd player (expensive but better than burning car down)...bottom line is she's lucky if only the deck went bad and not any of the amps or crossovers or speakers built into the bose system...as for a wiring diagram...i'd be suprised if anybody will give you one even if they have it...it's the wrong thing to do.

I was trying to avoid having to rewire the car because I remember what a pain my brother's 95 was to do. As far as the sub is concerned, how would I intergrate that? The reason i had to re wire my brother's car is because his bose sub blew. Is she going to have to get another sub as well?
