I need two sets of amplifiers. 1x 4 channel amp (with 100 watts rms per channel at 4 ohms), and a 1600 watt rms amp for a subwoofer setup.
What can people say about Memphis car audio, and alphasonik?
What about other notable brands?

Memphis is awesome, outstanding, can't be beat... need I say more? But go with what you like and have had good luck with and little problems out of, remember think about are you buying on a budget or buying for quality? If you want sound quality and an awesome amp, go with Memphis or Eclipse, if you want something that will get the job done, and it cheap, go with MTX, the low end Rockford, ect...

I love the product Memphis puts out...I have been dealing their goods for about 3 yrs now..Never had a bad word to say about them...The amps are great and will take a lot of abuse...The sound is great and if you do mess one up their return policy is Great.... Never messed with Alphasonic much so I have nothing to say there -------------  Making the World A Louder Place

Eclipse =  but something tells me we can't sell you into it. I would also have a closer look at Xtant and Crossfire (another ). ------------- Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Memphis is by far superior but I have nothing bad to say Alphasonik they are made by Audiobahn, but you can never go wrong with the land of ELVIS!!!!!!

Memphis amps are great. I have a 250W class D memphis running my subs. They pound them better then the "525W" power acoustik amp I use to have hooked up. Great amps but expensive, mine retails at over $200, but I got it for $35 lol.

i dont like crossfire at all, and as much as I like eclispe for speakers, I wouldnt go with memphis or eclipse for the amps, my new amps I am loving are soundstream for my internals, wow better then my old JL amp....for a sub amp I dont like the memphis d class amps not had good luck with them so far, but I do like the older a/b cheater amps haha 2 hc50's 2 eclipse 10's hmmm 144.7 on the lab thats nice...

i'm looking for a 1600 watt RMS amp for less than 1000

What's their high end marquee? Van Gogh, Edge, Or Xstream?
I'm guessing Van Gogh (115dB S/N vs. 96dB) ?
