 What happend to this company?

How come they now have Kove and Poweracoustik?

Did they buy the other  companies or was it the other way around and they were bought by Poweracoustik?

I remember how big they were back in the 90's. But now i would not buy from them unless it is still the same company.

from what i was told through a friend when it happend, they were bought out by Poweracoustik, and Poweracoustik was supposidly implementing SS parts into their products... that last bit could be false, this is only what i was told.

Soundstream was purchased by Epsilon Electronics in 2001.  Epsilon also sells PowerAcoustik, Farenheit and SPL brands.  Epsilon claims that the Soundstream product line is their "high end" product line and that it has remained completely seperate from their other products and is indeed manufactured at a completely different location.  Their new Van Gogh series are pretty nice amps.

^^^^^ but some of the product is no longer built in the USA with the "best" quality components either. Quite a bit of it is now made in the overseas sweat shop and marketed under the Soundstream name. I have never been as dissappointed in a line as I had when I first looked at the line again this spring, build quality was terrible and showcased the far East build factory to a "T".
