OK guys, if i built a box to hold an inverted sub, would it help or hurt me to make that box ported?  If I ported the box, should the port just be normal or should it be made with a wall that comes almost all the way down inside the box?  Will inverting the sub hurt my sq or spl a lot?

thanks

1) It won't matter as long as the enclosure is properly designed for the woofer.

2) Again, there is no difference from inverting the woofer in designing your ports.

3) It won't matter.  It is a trick for looks, or to enable a slightly smaller enclosure.

regardless of which way the sub is mounted, is there an advantage to one type of port over another?

Slot ports are generally easier to design if you're building a maximum SPL system, but round ports are easier to build (since you buy them pre-made) and tend to sound better.
