Well i'm sure everyone has read my previous threads about the 2 12" soundstream tarantulas i've been planning on getting. Well I talked to a guy from another forum today and he swears a better buy would be one 15" REsx sub. It is cheaper than both of the 12's and i've heard a lot of good thing about RE subs. He also says this will be louder in a large ported enclosure than both the soundstreams would. Also he's trying to convince me to build the box myself and will even give me full instructions on everything to build it. Hell of a nice guy. What do you think on this?

I'd go with RE subs over soundstream any day.  XBL2 should make the SQ better than anything I'd expect soundstream to throw your way.

I'd agree, but unfortunately only their XXX has the XBL^2 motor. posted_image

As far as SPL goes, would you still go with the RE?
