Thats not even a close comparison. The MTX will make the Kenwood look like a chump. The Thunder801D is a much better amp and will produce more legit power.

That 801D is a nice amp. That sub a DVC? If it is, that's a nice match to that amp.

yeah its the DVC model of the 9500, i was leaning towards the 801d and from what i have heard form talking to the guys at mtx (who were cool enough to design a ported box for me specifically, they get an A for customer service) they said it should actaully put out almost 900 watts thanks Chad

Personally I would take the kenwood excelon, I just like them. There is nothing wrong with the mtx at all, and there customer service is great(I know a bunch of people that did customer service for them).

Tough choice, i would take the MTX just cause it is cheaper and produces the power you need. Unlike the regular kenwood line, the excelon line is a good cost/performance line. So you could justify the excelon IMO.
