I plan on purchasing some Infinity Kappa 693.5i for the rear and matching 52.5i Kappa's for the front doors. I was looking at a HiFonics ZX-4400 or a ZX-6400 to power these speakers. Which amp would compliment these speakers the best. I own a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am. I believe the speaker are 4 ohms so should i wire the amp to power these in 2 ohm mode or 4 ohm mode. I don't know a whole lot about how ohm's come into play when wiring an amp and choosing how to wire it.

it is best to run your internal speaker at a 4 ohm load, when you drop impedance you add distortion, so if you run lower you might not get as clean sounding as you want

To obtain optimal performance from an amp, it is very important to apply a load in which it was designed for. The ratings that are advertised on an amp was measured in a lab environment with a chosen load. We all know in order for a manufacturer to sell their products, they state the best conditions. Ohm in this case is the load it applies to an amp. Hope this help
