lots of dampening material , lots of research and trial and error. Lots of money (ha-ha) no really , lots of money. Knowing where to place speakers in relation to the drivers seat. Too many extra's to add.

When you say acoustically tuned, are you refering to your system being tuned correctly or you car behind turned into a concert hall ?

You'll need access to an anechoic chamber, rollers for your driven wheels so you can simulate running at highway speed, a wind tunnel, several calibrated pink noise sources, several channels of RTA and calibrated microphones, several strain gages and vibrational/velocity transducers, a good oxy-acetylene torch and a better tig welder, sheet metal, access to a variety of different interior treatment materials like fabrics, carpets, seat covers, etc., lots of sound dampening materials, better seals and gaskets for all windows, and lots of time and patience.  It might also help if you had access to an acoustical engineer.  Then, after you solve all the issues with the vehicle's construction, you can begin to choose your sound system components.

I think I know where your going with this lolzitsmtss.........Does this have anything to do with the GMC commercial on TV? Where they ask if a concert hall can be accousticly tuned , then why cant your truck? If a 60,000 seat stadium can have a retractable roof , then why cant your truck? If an offraod Baja 1000 racer can have 4 wheel active suspension , then why cant your truck?

... and the real answer to those questions are corporate profits, weight, and CAFE standards.  It is a clever commercial, though.

Dynamat, Brown Bread, Dayton, Gator Skin, generic no-name... In my experience it all functions pretty much the same as long as you take the time to remove the car's interior treatments and properly install it.  I say use what's available the cheapest in your area.  Actually you can use just about anything that will reduce structural resonance.  I've seen good results using standard home carpet pad, wool blankets, foam rubber, roofing tar....

you know what....I tried looking up what else would stop or reduce the resonance or just the vibrating and i couldn't find anything.  I think the cheapest thing for me is home depot. I'se seen stuff its likes paint and u brush it on. It also comes in in a spray can and u just spray it on the object. I thought that was the best just spray it. I would think thats the easiest way. No roller no heat gun no nothing just spray. Also, Not to sound like a complete moron or idiot for asking this question...Can i spray the outside of the car? It goes on clear and odorless, its waterproof. Im thinking it must leave some kind of coating. I'll be sure to read the cautions and warnings about what it could do to the paint but if everything is okay and it doesnt leave any mark or anything visible..Will it actually work...have you had anyone actually do this?

Thanx alot man...I really appreciate you reponses...

thanx again

Im not exactly sure what this spray on product is but if its some kind of sound dampening material or anything like it , Im sure it cant be good for the paint job. Im thinking the spray has adhesive or bonding qualities that might dry clear but still change the apperance of the car. Ive seen lots of people recently do the Rhino Lining all over the exterior of the vehicle but that was knowing the textured look it would produce. Did a good job on noise kill tho.....

For sound deadning, I usually use thick carpet. I have glued this stuff in the doors before. It works very well, and it's cheap. Also, it helps to spray the insides of body panels with rubber. This keeps them from vibrating much.

I have also had success using fiberglass insulation. I stuffed it into the doors. Also, the added insulation helped to maintain the temperature of the interior.

Basically, anything that is very porous will work good for sound deadning.
