Dear to all who can help me,

I'm having problems installing a Sony XR-CA350 into a 1986 BMW 325es. I'm unable to determine the wiring structure for this car and they do not match up with the standard wiring diagrams. I tried looking for an amplifier inside the car, but could not find one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the list of wires coming out from the car (total of 9 wires):
(1) Solid Yellow
(1) Solid Blue
(2) Brown w/ Black Stripe
Red w/ Green Stripe
Gray w/ Red Stripe
Purple w/ Gray Stripe
(2) Solid White

Thanks,
Aaron

I looked up on the data base here at the 12volt and it doesnt match up here either. You may want to check with a local stereo shop and kindly ask them for help or maybe give the local dealership a call. If all else fails , you can run all new wires for the radio but that can be more extensive and time consuming to do.

Go to https://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums/e30/ they should be able to help you out.

You've got the premeium set-up from the factory. The amp is in the trunk, beneath the speaker deck, mounted in a bracket, below the left / drivers side speaker -all black,  kinda thin box. If it's not there then it's been removed or special ordered with out premium sound.

Sweet Ride BTW, piloted the same machine as your's for 9 years and tempted to buy it back. Now I've got an 88 528e, very smooth @ 130...
