Has anyone ever installed these Type R 6.5 speakers in a Ford 6x8 opening in a For Expedition?  Looking for some thoughts on how to adapt these speakers to this size opening.

I have, i needed to trim some metal away, then make a 1/4 wood template to cover the whole thing, screw it to the door, , then cut a hole in the wood template for the speaker to fit in.

Pretty simple.

No Metra does not carry anything that fits these speakers. I found that out when I ordered some adapter plates from them. I called them and they said the speakers were oversized and I needed to fabricate something on my own.
