Hey alpine is this going into a SPL car,    Either way I am truly impressed with the new SPL amps, I know cheap line but my god the z1x3000d has loads of power and its .5% thd   not to bad for a class d.   They are cheap too, you could get 2 for under $1000    there power is as follows and is actually pretty realistic
1100W @ 4 Ohms RMS

1800W @ 2 Ohms RMS

2300W @ 1 Ohms RMS

3000W Maximum Power

haha, yeah, ,that baby's a beauty!, , i would use that as a portable power supply for my blender so i can mix drinks when camping.  Thats all its good for, , and it wont even do that without some fixing.

are you talking about the SPL amp? or the lanzar,   cause frankly I am running some of the SPL amps in my vehicle next year.   i have been playing with one for a few days now and I am amazed.   I have been through alot of amps and I will tell you this amp is almost as clean as my memphis hc50's and has alot more power

Have you tested there actual output?   I can't see how such a small / low cost amp can put out so much power.  Do they get hot?  Im planning on hiding my amps under the rear floor in my Pathfinder.

I listen to my system for 45min straight usually, so cool amps are my friend.  Keep me updated tho, maybe i can camoflage it.   Im trying to keep a stock look as much as possible.  The subs are going to be fiberglassed to poke out only a little bit from above the rear fender wells.

Anyone play with the JBL BPX2200.1 ??  Is it truly 2450 wrms at 4 ohm?  Is it a clean amp? I want sound quality with the benifits of spl.

Whats the current draw on that amp?

There are literally dozens of great amplifiers available today that will produce 1200 - 1500 watts at 1Ohm for $900 -$1500. If you want a small amp you will need to run at 1 ohm (class D), simply beacuse any decent amp that will produce a true 1000 watts at 4 ohms will be ginormous (gigantic + enormous). The amp that I would recommend would be Diamond Audio D51200.1  - I cant say enough about this amplifier.  I have hear it in several different installs with any type of sub and it sounds phenomenal.  Also, it is pretty small (12" x 14.5" x 2.75") for a top-of the line 1200 watt amp.  (Actaul output of this amp at 1 ohm will be closer to 1400 watts). This amp was reviewed by CA&E last year and received an exceptional score for SQ and Styling. If you can't tell I love this amp. Oh yeah, and it's only $900 MSRP.  Here is a lonk to Diamond Audio

Or you could judt go with an alpine MRDM1001, since oyu are "Alpine Guy"  :)
