Subject: Wiring Dual Voice Coil and Amp Question

I have 2 audiobahn aw1051t's. Specs are:

300 watt RMS
2 Ohm or 5 Ohm Voice Coils

I also have an audiobahn A8002T amp, specs are:

2 Channel
2 ohms stable stereo
2 x 200 watt rms @ 4 ohms
2 x 400 watt rms @ 2 ohms
1 x 800 watt rms @ 4 ohms

The sub has 2 sets of positive and negative terminals on each side. What is the best way to wire the subs up and is the amp I have sufficient for the subs? Thanks alot.

Steve

Oops, it was 2 ohm or 4 ohm voice coils, but I bet you guys already figured that

Is this your subwoofer?  Says there it is dual 4 ohms.  Wire the subs together like this:posted_image

You will have a total 4 ohm load on the amp.  Bridge it to the amp terminals that are marked as bridged.  And for an explanation of why there are two sets of terminals on each voice coil and how it benefits you, see my recent post here.  *Note:  the diagram in that link is showing parallel/parallel wiring...yours is series/parallel....so don't follow the wire diagram in the link.

Set your amp gains carefully to match the deck output.  Make sure the sub enclosure is within the recommended specs set by the manufacturer.  You should have plenty of power for those subs according to the published specs (1 x 800 watt rms @ 4 ohms  according to what you wrote).

94legend, I think your message came across a bit confusing.  What is it you are trying to say?
