OK so im running an audiobahn A800T amplifier to a 12" RF T1. This is all being fed of f of a DXZ845MC. The sub is in a custom sealed box thats 1.5cu ft. it fires downward and is placed between the back of the third row seat and the liftgate. MY PROBLEM IS that when i raise the colume past 21-23 the subwoofer turns down(volume wise) and seems to be "loose" this could be to the box volume since it does not hit the high notes well either(no "punch") and the gains are set differently, but ive already changed the gains numerous times with no relief. PLEASE HELP
1) Is the sub meant to be fired downward? Not all can. Theres a tech. article on https://www.adireaudio.com/ that teaches about this.
2) Your box is probably too big. 1.5cu ft is double the recommended volume for that sub.
3) You might be clipping either the head unit signal or the amp. This would cause the loss of woofer control you're experiencing. Do you have bass boost or any of that crap on?

Is there a crossover built in to your Head Unit? If there is , play with it for awhile and make some adjustments there and see what happens. Are there crossovers on the bass amp? Try the same thing there.....
