if you are looking to splice two lenghts of 4 awg together, what I one of two things, time permitting, grab the biggest tip for your solding iron and get to it.. i kind of fan out the two ends and push them together kind of like intertwineing them and shrink wrap it.. it take a little time and can get a little messy.. the other thing I do.. a lot faster.. two 4 awg ring treminals and use the hammer crimp to crimp and bolt the two together, wrap with split loom and tape it up... never had a problem with it.. This is also something you don't want to do where it's visible.. go with jeff's for that.. of course, you can also use an agu fuse holder...

well a little hint if you are going from 4 to 8 guage wire the space between you need a fuse cant stress that enough, the fuse in the engine will only protect 4 guage wire not 8 so if anything happens you 8 guage wire will fire all the way to distrabution block or splice what ever.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.
8 awg wire happens to be a 480 something fuse... meltdown..

I didn't end up splicing it. Im running a cap, so instead I
used ring terminals. Thanks for the feedback guys! It's
appreciated.
