ok, this is the situation, i own a Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD I bought it like 6 months ago. Everthing was working fine Until one day the am/fm radio stop working i checked everything and the problem was the tuner, It was under warranty so I took the unit to the closest Repair shop ( which is like 25 miles from my house) I Gave them the unit and the tuner (I really take good care of my stuff, no scratches, always like new) It took a month to get it back. yesterday i got the unit back, so i installed in my car, and when I open the LCD screen, When the unit pops out, I see like 5 or 6 scratches all over, in the screen and in the plastic corner, where the three little bottons are scratches all over, I was so mad, so i call these people they told to bring the unit back, i drove all the way there, and when i got there, the guy told it was not his fault, the radio was in that condition then they got it, Which is not true at all, that he did not touch the unit only the Tuber ( which is not true because to test the tuner you have to use the unit, and in the report they gave they check all the function of the unit to make sure it was everything working, so it means that they did touch the unit..then he start talking to me in a bad way, getting loud, so i told them im out of here, im calling pioneer. >>> I call pioneer and they told me that i need to send the invoice so i did it and they were going to open a new case to find out whos fault was it.. The problem is that when pioneer call these people, they are going to said that it was not theirs fault,, so I was thinking how could i probe that they did that...???
\\

Any advice>>>

Here's a typical " you said, he said " case. Most of the time it becomes a draw and the customer is stuck withthe damaged goods, but that will depend on Pioneer, not the shop that you got the warranty from. Right now, all you can do is make sure that you get on Pioneer's case about this and do not refer anyone to that shop that did the work.

yeah, Right now These people (pioneer) told me that i have to wait like 3 or 4 days and they will call me back with an answer. Im really mad because there is nothing i can do to prove them that it was theirs fault.. and if they (pioneer) said that it was my fault, Im going to end up with a unit that i dont like the way it look, and i wont be able to do sh$t about. that why im really mad...

This is a bad situation for you to be in. I feel for ya, I really do. Unfortunatly I can already see the ending and it is gonna be that the shop is going to deny everything and since you cant prove other wise you are going to end up with the unit. Pioneer may go above and beyond and help you out but I doubt it. Let us know what happens

3 or 4 days wait is not a big deal. In the big picture its only a car audio unit.  Its not like someone died.  I work in the service sector and all I can suggest is that 1) The squeaky wheel gets the greaseposted_image but with that being said.... 2) If you yell and scream and are rude, no one will want to help you.  If the shop is at fault, which it seems like it is, then just relax and pioneer will help you out.  If they do poor quality work and are rude and difficult to work with,  then they will get whats coming to them.

Also, what you can do is if the complaint was legitimate against this shop you can get under their skin and file a consumer complaint against them if they're part of a Business Group ( BBB ). Find out if they are, they usually stick up something on the window of the shop to promote that they are part of a service or business affiliation and then go to the top there and present your case to them. This makes the business take a closer look at you and your complaint.

I know It not a big picture, but for a 21 years old kid that spend more than $5.000 thousand dollars on a car audio and video, and spend over $1.000 in the unit, its a big picture for myself, In the kind of guy that really takes good care of stuff that i hardly work to get it.. and not because Im just hoping to get good news from pioneer..... I will let you know what happens.

thanks for any advice...

OK, this is an Update,,,,, after waiting for Pioneer to gave me an answer, they told me that The Shop denied everything, they didnt do any cosmetic damage.Blah , Blah, Blah !!!
pioneer told me to send the radio to pioneer (california) I sent it with the box, wires, everything.. they got the radio 2 weeks ago, they check the damage, and they guy on the phone says that there is not way to find out who's fault was it. After talking for an hour (telling him is not my fault, blah blah blah), the guy told me to call back in two days, when i call them back, they have decide to send the radio to a pioneer repair shop, Which they will repair ONE TIME the cosmetic damage, because warranty does not cover Physical damage, SO they will do a one time free repair, so they will replace all the damage, SO,, After fighting with this guy in the local shop, fighting with pioneer over the phone, After Waiting for Almos 2 Months, I got what i wanted. I should be getting the unit by next week.....

I am glad to see that athough it took a while, you are getting taken care of. I hope you can understand the position pioneer was in and understand why it was a sticky situation for them to be in as well as you. I hope it all goes well when you get it back.

Thats awsome that everything turned out in your favor. That shop sucks for not fessing up, and big props to pioneer for helping you out like that. Now next time you want something installed you wont go to that shop, but next time you need a new HU I sure bet you will buy from pioneer. And remember, bad word of mouth can be terrible for business...

Not sure if anyone else would recommend this or not, but before taking anything in to a repair shop, take pictures of your stuff first. That way you have some proof of the condition prior to any work being done on it. This is only if you are so picky that a fingerprint might set you off, but it might save someone some grief in the future. Glad to hear things worked out for you.

I was told the best way to do it, is when you get there to the shop, tell them to check the radio for any scratches or dents, that way they know the conditions of the radio when they receieved,,,,,
