It's been a long time since I messed with car audio.  I recently purchased a new Kenwood EQ and it says to give it a 12 volt source.  Do I really have to wire it from the battery like the owners manual says or will tapping into a 12 volt switched source be sufficient enough?  It only has a 3 amp fuse.

One other thing.  Anyone know a good place to go through the firewall of a 95 Nissan 200SX?

Thanks for the feedback!

It is not necessary to run your yellow lead all the way to the battery but you will want to wire it into a constant 12v source incase their is some kind of memory that needs to be retained by the unit. you should be able to find a constant source some where in the fusebox.

Ya,actually a constant twelve isnt even nessasary for that unit because there is no memory for it. If you have a strong ignition source you can wire both the yellow and the blue/white to that as well
