okay, quick question, i was doing an install for a friend of mine, and his camry has a cd player and a tape deck.  We removed the factory cd-player, as it was the main unit, and installed the aftermarket stereo, which is working fine.

We did however want to get the factory tape deck working also though.  In the factory setup, the tape deck has a harness that plugs into the cd-player, and the cdplayer had all the main cabling for the stereo.

Is there a way i can hook up the tape deck to the aftermarket stereo or is it a lost cause?

it will not work unless your radio has an aux input channel and after that you whould have to figure out what it power, left right audio out etc and i dont think you will ever be able to control the tape deck through the radio its not made for it.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.

yeah, i didn't really think so.   I figure most factory stereo equipment is usually only compatible with the original equipment.

thanks for the info.
