Hi.. Ok.. so i have an Alpine 7893 and i'm looking to install it into a97 maxima (non-bose). I have the wiring harness and when i opened the radio, noticed that there were slightly more wires than i had thought. Can someone tell me how i should wire this? That is, what color wire from the radio connects to the wire of the harness. Some colors don't match up. Also, there is a yellow wire with a fuse attached to it. How do i go about connecting it to the battery? Am i supposed to attach that wire to another wire and then to the battery? Confused. Please help ASAP.

you should be able to just connect the same colored wires from the harness to the alpine.. if you are worried about the two blue wires, one blue and one blue/white, one is for antenna and one for amp turn on. the pink is a mute wire, orange is for dimmer.. you should have a yellow from the harness.. it will go to the yellow on the alpine.. if you are worried about the current draw, you can run a wire from the battery (be sure to fuse AT the battery.) I haven't had a problem using the factory memory wire for the alpine..some will probably bash me for that.. I get paid on commision, and if it works, it stays until I have a problem..

OK.. so i can run the wire from the alpine to the harness. I'll try that, However, if i was to run the yellow to the battery, can you tell me how i'm supposed to do that? Crimp with another wire? waht guage? how do i connect it to the battery. What would be the downfall if i connected it to teh yellow with yellow rather than yellow to battery. Thats my only main concern i think..

the way to run it to the battery would be to connect another wire to it just to extend it.. run it to the battery and connect it to a fuse holder with a 15amp fuse and to the battery terminal. The only downfall would be that the alpine would be drawing more current than the factory.. the factory wire is of a smaller awg. Alpine decks are great, I have a 7995 in my truck, but they are not 100% efficient.. I have yet to see anything that is. that deck may draw 15 amps at full volume with a 1k note playing from the CD player, but I doubt it. When I bench test alpine, it might draw between 5 and 8 amps at the most when turned up to a level that's not distorted, but loud.. I can give you actually specs tomorrow if you would like..just post here or email me.. I check it all day.. ------------- George
