Well...that didn't take long...im back...

I have a couple of new problems to address.

1) I have a whine at low RPM from the subs...is this a ground or wiring problem??

2) When I turn my key to the pre-start position, I can hear power go to the subs, they pop on. When starting, it seems to take a little extra time and effort to turn over. I thought the ATT/Rem wire was supposed to keep the amp off (eliminating power to the subs) when the radio was off.

Not good, how long is your ground cable?

Agree with uthink on the grounding as the culprit here.  And your amp rem wire is connected to your ACC, not your deck remote out.  That's why it powers on when you turn the key with the radio off.  If your engine is turning slower, you most likely have a battery that needs to be replaced.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Ground cable is about 12" long.

I hooked up to the wire that I believe a few others with my same vehicle have hooked up to without this problem.

Really? What guage is that ground wire? 12'' is fine, maybe even a little longer wouldn't hurt you, but make sure its a sufficient gauge to power your amp correctly.

dude you dont need a battery cable, just a diff amp wiring kit to do your setup like a 6aug would be awesome for that, but 4aug would be better, then you wont have to worry about upgrading AGAIN in the future if you decide to do a hardcore set up in your vehicle.

You should be running both your power and ground cable the same guage, like 4 all the way around ... and you will be in good shape!
