I've just installed a Clarion vrx935vd dvd player in a 2005 nissan altima.  Now after I installed the radio I noticed some freaky things like when I armed my car with the factory alarm the indicator light stayed red (on) when in disarm mode it flashed.  I even tried to sit in my car and arm the car and get out and the alarm didn't sound.  Before I put the headunit in everything worked fine.  Another problem is that my air bag light is blinking.  Do you thing I've could have messed up.   Any advice?

What do you think I should do, should I take the head unit out I have an appointment with them tuesday.  I mean I don't understand how by installing the radio your screwing up an alarm or airbag.

Put the factory radio back in and make it look like it was never taken apart. Then take it back to the dealership and tell them the check engine light and airbag light just turned on. Once you get the car back from the dealership take it a stereo shop and have them put the radio in. If there is any problems from that point then the shop is responsible.

I'm capable of installing the radio I've worked for a local automotive electronic shop for 3 years and I've never had a problem.  I'm certified to do this stuff so I don't want to take it to a shop that I'm gong to have to pay for.  I just don't understand what I could have messed up.  The radio doesn't have nothing to do with the alarm.  It's like these new cars are so delicate.

Damn, a 2005 model.  I would think it definitely has something to do with the computer.  All the new cars these days always have the radios wired up to the computer somehow.  At least the ones I've seen or worked on do....

I'm going to call clarion and see if they know what could of happened.  I'll also take the car to a local mechanic instead of taking it to the dealer see if he could help me out somehow.

check your owners manual, maybe it mentions something about this. I know for sure that some vehicles have the stereo integrated into the security system so far that other functions of the vehicle wont work if the unit is unplugged. I can't remember which vehicles or where I saw that but I will try to find out. Look in your manual for sure to see what the alarm sections says about the LED flashing while disarmed and solid while armed.

Did U use a Radio Interface or Hard wire it? Be sure you check and verify all of your connections.  I'm with auex...Put the Factory Radio back in. Take it to the Dealer and have the Codes removed or have them tell you what the problem is. Fix it first   Then use the correct Interface

I used the correct radio interface made sure of my connections, I just don't know.  I'm going to put the factory head unit back in and see if that changes anything.  I have an appointment with the dealer on tuesday so I have to get the new radio out and install the factory back.

I know for certain cars you do need a antenna adapter.  Yeah I'm going to put the new radio in and use the I don't know face.  It's a great head unit.
