The subject pretty much speaks for itself, i have a rofckford 501bd amp and i hit a really big bump and my amp just stopped working. I looked at it and it was still on but it was in protect. I unhooked everything and rehooked everything but it wont go out of protect mode.

ANything i can do??

How long did you leave it Unhooked?

AMps have capacitors in them which do not immediately discharge when the power source is removed. Try disconnecting it for about 30minutes. See if that works.

Also, an amp will go into "Protect Mode" if there is a ground fault. Meaning there is a problem with your ground connection(s). Check the ground(s) to make sure that they are still intact.

Did you have the amp mounted on your speaker box , check inside the amp the ground points .This requires some knowledge on electronics  , if your not  , dont mess with it  take it to a service shop . A t.v vcr repair shop even could help you out in this case
