I have a alpine 7998 with both of the switched and unswiched power wires on the constant wire in my truck so i can turn it on without the key on. Will this cause a half amp draw on my battery even when the deck is off?

Thanks.

if the unit is off it will not draw power.    But if you forget to turn your deck off when you get out of the car then you might have problem's

I wouldn't think it should draw more than 100mA when off, just to keep the clock and presets and stuff saved
