can you mount two subs facing each other if they are about 2 feet away from each other in a hatchback? will it still sound ok. my buddy want two seperate sealed boxes for his 10's and wants them to face each other, ive heard if you face two subs together you might get cancelation, will this be a problem?? thanks

this set up is called "isobaric". all you really have to do, when putting two subs face to face. is to reverse the polarity, meaning, reverse the positive and the negative. so when you do hook them up to the amp and play them, it will create a "push-pull". but then if your speakers are like 2 feet away. i dont see if you would have to reverse the polarity on one of the subs. as for sound wise. i'm not to sure how it would sound. and actually never seen a system wit this kind of set up. try it, and let us know how it goes!

It's only an isobaric loading if the two subs share the same enclosure.
Yes, facing subs towards each other across a small airspace will cause cancellation and is not usually recomended. Yes, in some cases you can reverse the polarity on one sub and compensate somewhat for this effect, although you will not realize the full benefits in SPL of having two subs if you do. My recomended solution is to use only one sub, or change the mounting location, or change the enclosures so they are not directly facing each other.
