Hello,
I am considering adding an Infinity BassLink 200W self-amplified subwoofer to my 2003 Jaguar S-Type factory unit. It is not a premium audio package and consists of a CD player only, no CD-changers, no mini-disks.
The description of the Infinity sub mentions the fact that I can use either RCA cables, or a pair of Molex connectors, allowing BassLink to be easily connected to OEM systems.
My question is, does the factory head unit/amplifier have a Molex connector built in?
I have enclosed the link to the Infinity sub, in case you need any specific info

Any help would be appreciated.
No, the molex connector plugs into the subwoofer amp (in this the amp is built in with the subwoofer). Then the other end of the molex connector is bare wires that you would connect to the front or rear speakers output coming from your factory cd player (left +, left -, right +, right-). This is called speaker level inputs, which is what you would use instead of a the RCA input on your amp, because you have a factory cd player.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply. Just to clarify - since the bare wires have to be connected to the front or rear speakers output coming from CD player, does this mean I can tap into the rear speakers without having to connect the wires to the head unit? See, my battery is in the trunk, which makes it so much easier to run the power/ground wires, but I am trying to avoid having to pull out the head unit.
Thanks,
Filipp
Yes, you can tap the rear speakers for the speaker level input.
