Crossovers - you can manually adjust what frequency's of sound you want going to your speakers that are attached to this. Components - opposed to coaxils, these have a midbass driver and a separate tweeter, usually making better sound and defines a professional application. Tweeter - high end support of a component or coaxil. Produces high frequency notes. Door Speakers - Usually consist of 4x6, 5x7, 5.25'' Round , or 6.5'' round speakers. Fully replaceable and can be flush or surface mounted. Hope this helped ...

right now i have 4 pioneer 3 way door speakers in my expedition. I plan on changing my head unit to eclipse, and replacing the 2 front door speakers with memphis. I want to have a loud and hard hitting system. right now when the bass hits my door speakers dont sound clear at all. I plan on just changing the 2 front door speakers to memphis and powering the 2 back pioneers and the front memphis speakers with a 4x75 channel memphis amp. I dont know which door speakers to get from memphis. I am confused on whether to get components or 2 way door speakers and dont know what size since they dont make 6x8" speakers from memphis which my car takes. I also have tweeters with each door speaker, someone said those tweeters arent doing the system any good. I need to know what speaker or component i should get to make my system louder and more clearer than it already is. What are kick panels? THANKYOU

Can't help you out on kick panels, but i am curious to know why you want memphis speakers... I highly recommend Nakamichi head units as they are the cleanest and clearest out their available to you and for components CDT, FOCAL, MMATS, and Cadence make really loud and clean ones that are all up in your face! They scream man if you give them clean power. In an expedition i would get 6.5'' Round Components and run a good 4 channel amp to them to make them scream! You should mount your midbass in the door and the tweeter to the roof or on the grab panel located above the window hatch behind the front seats and one on the front pillars.

They are all high end companies, equal to what you will spend on memphis component and better quality. Yes, the components will replace the door speakers.

Actually it is generally a bad idea to mount the tweeter that far away from the midrange driver. You want it as close as possible for time / phase reasons. Put both the midrange and the tweeter in the kick.

so my new door speakers will have a tweeter seperate from the speaker and a mid range speaker, no bass?
