I just installed an amp and a sub box.

The subs just pluse BOOM BOOM BOOM.It doesn`t matter if the head unit is up or down.

I`ve rewired twice, changed amps3 times, move the ground alround the truck, but it doesnt change.

Anybody ever heard of this before? I`ve do this same install a 100 times and never had anything close to this happen.

check your speaker wiring and power and ground lines..make sure rca's are connected correctly to the deck and to the amp, that they are both in the proper in and out spots

I`ve gone through the wiring twice already.

Something is giving it a signal, but what??

Loose or defective RCA is my best guess

Does it still do it if you unplug the RCA's from the amp

 nopeno output at all

What the hell does nopeno mean, If that means no than it means that the problem lies in either the RCA inputs on the amp, the RCA outputs on the deck or the cables. If the deck has multiple out puts try hooking up to another set, Is this using a factory deck or after market?

I think you need to take your amp and get it bench tested at a local shop

I`ve got my own test bench. But as i said in my post I`ve changed amps already.

But when i did a search of the web I`ve found that people have had the same problem with the pioneer decks,

but no one has had a solution. That what promted my post

I also said in my post that this is not my first install.I`ve gone all the routes to eliminate noise, but it hasn`t helped. This is a strange problem to me,I`ve never heard of it before today.

Could be several things.  Where is the input gain set?  If it's maxed out you could be simply overdriving the amp.  Most likely cause after that is RCA cables or bad amp, but since you've eliminated that I'd have to say defective head unit.  Pioneer decks are not known for being the best made things in the world...

the input gain, the noise just goes up and down with it.

as for the deck the speakers that I`m running off the output there work just fine.I`ve never seen preamp outputs go bad without the speaker outputs going out,but there is a first time for everything.

but i do have another deck that i`m going to try in the morning.

Does the HU have a gain control on it?  Or some sort of level control for the RCA outputs?

Preamps will go bad if the signal being fed to them is too great.  This would be caused by the gain being set too high.

Does the same thing occur when you play CDs?

i see that happen at least three times a year...it sometimes also happens in the exact opposite...high levels bad but preouts good...i will say one thing though...even though it sounds like you have changed everything like three times over...after changing out the deck...assuming thats the problem which seems to be the case...make sure to check everything else one more time...although i have seen this happen quite a few times before...i have never seen it happen where there wasn't already something wrong with either

A) Amp

B) Subs

C) Wiring

D) Install

E) All of the above

not a personal attack...but it doesn't hurt to make sure

Ya, sorry I missed where you said you switched out the amp. I have also seen the preouts go bad but the internal amp remains fine. If you have checked everything as thourgh as you have said then the deck really seems like the only possible problem left. Tell us what happens

Ok I called pioneer and what they had to say is that the internal amp is drove by the preamp. But the preamp output can go bad.So if you own a pioneer and you have the same problem, take a voltmeter and check the output of the preamp if it is more than 500mv ac (Yes AC) then it is bad.
Mine read 575ma ac so it was bad.
Changed the deck and now when I go to feed the cows they`ll be boggin` in the pasture.
Alot of trouble for and old farm truck but somtimes you got to make the animals happy.
 Thanks for the help guys.
