Does anyone know if it is possible to use a Pioneer HU (AVIC-N1) to control a CD changer made by another manufacturer?  I want a changer that can play MP3s, and JVC, Sony, Audiobahn make them, but I believe I can only use one that works via an FM tuner, and I don't know if that's a good idea.  I've heard that there is a loss in signal quality via FM.  Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Mark

That is correct. If you connect via FM modulation there will be signal quality loss. There really isnt a way to do what you want w/o that though. Using the Pioneer IP-BUS system with a Pioneer changer would be best, but I do know as well that they dont make a MP3 changer as you stated.
