This usually means that you need a high output alternator. How many watts is the amp on your subs? Sometimes you can get by with a cap in line with the sub amp.

You might wanna try the big 3 also, much cheaper then a new alt and it will help to some extent. Might stop the dimming or it could just help a little.

If you list what kind of amp or amps & what kind of subs, with the power ratings,we can give you more help.

Perhaps try a batcap, install it by your amps and it acts like a 50+ Farad Capacitor. They are cheap on ebay for like $75. Might be worth a look. Overall the high output alt would be the most efficient way of settling the problem - quite pricy but its worth it.

And all of that means what? We told you what you need. A capacitor, batcap, or a high output alternator. Make sure you upgrade your cables from 12 guage to like 8 or 4 underneath the hood to have a strong electrical connection. No one said this would be cheap, but it will save you from shorting out everything and making your budget a lot more.

The amount of power you are running should not be that much of a strain on your electrical system. Check your battery cable connections make sure they are clean & tight. You might need to also have your alt tested.

Correct. Then just ground the cap to metal near it.
