well first dont get dynamat..that sh*t is way to expensive....get -peel n seal- its just like origanal dynamat...they sell it at lowes or home depot in the roofing section...its in a roll..one side is aluminum back and the other side is sticky...the pupose of it is to eliminate road noise or stop vibrations due to subs, ect
you can get 100 sq ft for 70 bucks
if you got dynamat it would cost you 100 just for 20-30 sq ft..its a rip off!!!
also go search for fatmat or e-dead very simular products that still cost less then dynamat....
AJRXtreme, any damping mat basically reduces car panel resonances. i.e. the metal vibrating. Panel resonances do two things: 1) create noise of their own making you turn up the stereo louder 2) reduce the bass/midrange energy of your speakers
I think damping mat on your front door, at least around and directly behind the speaker, is well worth it.
The best value in damping mat I've found is Raammatt from https://www.raamaudio.com/
Most people do the trunk and the doors. Since you don't have your subs in the trunk you'll only have to worry about the doors. Sealing that door up with a good layer or two of dynamat will help you obtain some nice tight midbass from your speakers. I went with 1 layer inside the door and 2 layers outside. I was pleased with the results.
