I currently have two "12 Kicker CVRS, Dual voice coils, 800 watts RMS. Right now I have an old junky Jensen LXA300 amp, I've had the amp for a few years (only paid $20 so I couldn't pass it up) and I had the amp powered to my old set of subs, and now I have them powering the CVRS for a while now. I know that amp is hurting the subs, and the CVRS are power hungry, which is why I'm upgrading. I'm not doing competitions, or trying to hit a certain DB. Just for daily driving. I found a JBL GTO12001.1 amp. Rated 787 wrms at a 4ohm load. Would that amp be good enough for it? Or does anyone know a perfect amp for the CVRS to get the best sound out of them?

Also, what kind of awg wire would I want? 0/1 awg or 4awg? Also, what's the best size speaker wire to get? I heard the bigger the better, but I just need a second opinion from someone who knows alot.

Next, for my mids and highs, I was thinking about getting Infinity Kappa door speakers (haven't check to see what size yet) and power those to maybe a Alpjne 50watt amp, 4 channel incase I ever want to upgrade the rear speakers. Would that be a good setup there or does anyone also know something better?

Last but not least, since I'm upgrading everything, I figured I'd go for a new headunit. Right now mine is a Panasonic DP202 which is getting to it's "death". The "skip" button is jammed and sometimes it'll skip through the cd or stations and it's gets annoying after a while. I was thinking getting something on the higher level, like an Alpine 9830. I was told that's a great hu. What does anyone think of those?

Sorry for all the questions and long post, but i'm trying to get the best sound out for a daily driver. Money isn't an issues, but I don't want to spend "too" much. From what I have now, do you think that'll be good enough? Just need a second opinion everyone. I wanna make sure I have it correct before I go spending money and something doesn't work out right. Any advice will be glady appreciated. Thanks!

how much do you want to spend and how many ohms are those voice coils each? i used to have an old alpine deck(still do) and the thing would never skip, sounded clean as hell, and indestructable but personally listening to and trying out some of the new ones, i would get an eclipse, namikachi(however it is spelled), or an upper end pioneer.    almost any deck from the first 2 brands are great as long as they will suit your needs amnd have enough rca outs. rca out voltage doesnt really matter as long as the signal is clean. look here for your wire size question as it will depend on what you end up getting in the end and this will give you a general idea of what you will need. do make sure that the wire can handle the maximum amperes that you amp will take. basically check the fuse on the amp.

I mentioned the subs are DVC, 4ohm, and I also mentioned money isn't an issue, but I don't want to spend too much money since I'm not going to compete. What I wanted to know was, is all of that equipment I mentioned good enough? Will that amp be good enough for those subs? Are those Kappa's good? Would that Alpine amp be good for those Kappa's or does anyone know a better amp? Do you think a 50watt 4 channel amp is high enough or should I get a bigger one? Thanks for the tips for the HU, I'll look into the Eclipse.

So, all I want to know is what I mentioned above. Thanks again. Can anyone here help?

the jbl will be fine for those subs. the alpine amp would be fine as well for the kappas. but if you plan on upgrading to better components i would get a better amp. if the kappas are good to you then they are fine. they are good speakers
